Our client is seeking an IOP Addictions Counselor on the North Side. Details are as follows:

CLIENT'S MISSION
To provide each client with positive, professional and quality service; always promoting respect dignity and fairness to each client; while making appropriate referrals which will assist clients in reaching their maximum level of independence.

OUTCOMES

Counselors will provide supportive services, education, and counseling to clients and their families, who desire assistance with their chemical dependency problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Substance Use Disorder services are provided including individual, family, couples and group counseling.

2. Facilitate up to 9 hours of groups weekly: including educational, process, and support groups. Also facilitates groups in other programs if needed.

3. Client's charts are maintained in an organized order and according to Unit policies, CARF and SUPR regulations.

4. SUPR, CARF and Unit policy documentation will be accurately completed within established timetables.

5. Client treatment plans, CSR and Discharge Summaries are written and monitored with the client according to SUPR and CARF regulations and program polices.

6. Referrals for clients to other Salvation Army programs or outside private and public agencies are arranged as appropriate.

7. The team approach is utilized and strengthened through active communication with all programs within the Army.

8. Staff meetings and supervision are attended, and counselor is involved in staff committees as requested.


9. Records are kept and statistical and other required reports are accurately prepared within specified time requirements.

10.Work schedules will be followed and it is understood these may vary and could include some evening and weekend shifts. Changes in shift assignment may be made according to needs of the program.

11. Will work with clients to gain recovery support services, including housing, employment, and placement.

12. Must stay current in substance use disorder and mental health educational trends.

13. Monitor clients with medication management of MAT.

14. Provide case management services to clients.

15 All other duties as assigned.

CLIENT'S REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
"Certified in the State of Illinois as a Certified Addictions Counselor.
"Must maintain certification status with IAODAPCA.
"Bachelor's degree required but master's degree preferred.
"Two years of previous experience as a Counselor.
"A minimum of one year of sobriety needed.
